Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo announced that a special adjustment grant of 1 billion KRW (approximately 10 billion KRW) would be provided to support the Daejeoncheon Riverside Trail construction project, which was proposed by Jung-gu District.

On October 1, Mayor Lee Jangwoo visited Jung-gu as his first district visit of the year and spent time communicating with about 200 residents. During a meeting held in the main conference room of the Jung-gu District Office, Mayor Lee promised active support for resolving long-standing local issues and advancing key projects.

Regarding the "Support for the Convenient and Safe Daejeoncheon Riverside Trail Construction Project" proposed by Jung-gu District Chief Kim Jesun, Mayor Lee stated, "This is a great project that can offer a pleasant urban image to visitors coming to the baseball stadium," and added, "If linked with the baseball-themed street currently being promoted by the city, it will create significant synergy."

He continued, "To facilitate the project, we will provide a special adjustment grant of 1 billion KRW (10 billion KRW)."

In the following conversation with residents, various local issues were discussed, including: ▲ Prompt promotion of the construction of the Munchang Public Library ▲ Creation of a public rental-type knowledge industry center ▲ Modernization of community senior centers in apartment complexes ▲ Establishment of a shared parking lot for small business owners in the old downtown area.

Regarding support for the construction of the Munchang Library, Mayor Lee responded, "We will review it later, taking into account the connection with the municipal library currently being built on the Daejeon High School site and the city's financial situation."

Concerning the creation of a public rental-type knowledge industry center, he stated, "We are currently providing 16 billion KRW from the Special Account for Balanced Development, and an additional 5 billion KRW is being invested for parking lot construction. In line with the construction schedule, we will allocate another 1 billion KRW next year."

Regarding the modernization of community senior centers, he mentioned, "As this is a project under the jurisdiction of the district, direct support is difficult, but if you apply for a special adjustment grant, we will consider it."

Additionally, for the shared parking lot project for small business owners, he emphasized, "We have completed the urban management plan and design, and are aiming to break ground this year. We will do our utmost to streamline administrative procedures and communicate with residents."

Mayor Lee Jangwoo said, "Jung-gu holds special meaning for me as it is where many memories from my school days remain. I will actively invest so that key issues in Jung-gu, such as the Bomunsan stay-type tourism complex and the Sajanggyo-Hanbatdaegyo road construction, lead to tangible results that residents can truly feel."

Earlier, Mayor Lee personally inspected the site for the convenient and safe Daejeoncheon Riverside Trail construction project and discussed development plans linked to the baseball-themed street with Jung-gu District Chief Kim Jesun. Both parties agreed to develop the Daejeoncheon Riverside Trail as a special street featuring culture and attractions.
