Ko Jin-young and Kim Hyo-joo to Shine in Haenam This October

Ko Jin-young and Kim Hyo-joo are heading to Haenam.

The organizing committee of the LPGA Tour BMW Ladies Championship (total prize money of 2.3 million dollars) announced the list of key participants for this year's tournament on October 1. The tournament will be held over four days starting October 16 at Pine Beach Golf Links (par 72, 6,785 yards) in Haenam County, South Jeolla Province.

This year's field includes Korean players active on the LPGA Tour, such as 2021 champion Ko Jin-young, Kim Hyo-joo, Yoo Hae-ran, Kim A-lim, Lee So-mi, Choi Hye-jin, and Lim Jin-hee, all vying for the title. In addition, Jeon In-gee, Park Sung-hyun, Lee Jeong-eun, and amateur Oh Soo-min have been invited to participate. Choi Woon-jung will make her return to the LPGA through this tournament after giving birth. Korea is aiming for its first victory in four years since Ko Jin-young's win.

Among this year's major champions, US Open winner Maja Stark (Sweden), KPMG Women's PGA Championship winner Minjee Lee (Australia), Amundi Evian Championship winner Grace Kim (Australia), and AIG Women's Open winner Miyu Yamashita (Japan) will also compete.

A BMW Korea representative stated, "The BMW Ladies Championship is the only official LPGA Tour event held in Korea, where the world's top players gather to deliver the highest level of competition. This year, with many major champions and leading Korean players participating, we expect the competition to be fiercer than ever. We will do our utmost to provide the optimal environment for the players to perform at their best and to deliver unforgettable moments of excitement to golf fans."
