The police will secure additional personnel beyond the existing safety accident investigation staff to form 20 "Serious Accident Investigation Teams" comprising 100 members under the Criminal Investigation Units of the provincial police agencies. Additionally, a "Dedicated Scientific Investigation Team for Serious Accidents" has been organized at the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency.

The newly established investigation teams will be responsible for investigating fatal industrial accidents within their jurisdictions. To enhance investigative expertise, the police plan to expand training courses at the Police Investigation Training Institute and secure more specialized personnel. Furthermore, a regular investigative consultative body will be operated with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, while direct communication lines will be established between dispatched personnel and regional investigation teams.

Yu Jaeseong, Acting Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, stated, "It is essential to prevent accidents occurring at workplaces where ordinary citizens go to make a living in order to protect their basic rights." He added, "We will thoroughly analyze the findings identified through investigations to propose institutional improvements and will also carry out activities to prevent accidents."
