Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 30 that it has established and is implementing a "Comprehensive Plan for the Chuseok Holiday" in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
During the holiday period, the city will operate a comprehensive response team composed of 119 personnel across nine areas, including the general control team, disaster response, medical care and disease control, transportation, and sanitation, to respond quickly and systematically to various situations.
In particular, the city will focus on stabilizing prices for key holiday and daily necessities until October 9 to prevent price instability caused by increased demand. In addition, a fuel response team will conduct on-site inspections to prevent fuel-related safety accidents, such as those involving gas.
In the health and disease control sector, the city will operate emergency medical and on-call treatment systems, while also strengthening disease control measures in preparation for potential outbreaks. For the environment, an emergency sanitation system will be in place to maintain a pleasant urban environment, and in the transportation sector, roads and transportation facilities will be inspected and maintained to ensure smooth travel for holiday visitors.
In the water supply and sewage sector, an emergency water supply situation room will be operated to guarantee stable water services throughout the holiday. For safety management, a 24-hour disaster safety situation room will be continuously operated to prevent disasters and respond swiftly to emergencies.
Jung Jangsun, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, stated, "We will thoroughly implement measures in each sector so that citizens can spend the Chuseok holiday safely and comfortably."
