On September 29, as disruptions to the financial IT network continue due to a fire at the National Computing and Information Agency (NCIA) data center, a notice related to the incident is posted at a commercial bank in Seoul. Because of the fire, it is currently impossible to verify resident registration cards through the government’s IT system, leading to ongoing disruptions in some bank services such as non-face-to-face account openings, loan screenings, and identity verification.
