Yangsan City has announced that, in order to ensure a safe and comfortable holiday for returning visitors and residents during the Chuseok holiday, it will operate a "24-hour Integrated Disaster Situation Room" throughout the holiday period and fully activate its safety response system.
This measure is intended to respond quickly to various disasters and safety incidents that may occur during the holiday period-such as fires, traffic accidents, gas accidents, and severe weather-and to minimize damage to residents. The city will organize day and night shifts within the disaster situation room to maintain a 24-hour response system, while also strengthening cooperation with related agencies such as the police and fire departments to ensure real-time situation monitoring and immediate initial response.
The Integrated Disaster Situation Room will focus on effective on-site response, including disaster situation management, real-time monitoring of weather conditions, prompt reception and response to fires and various accidents, and operation of an emergency contact system.
Prior to this, starting from September 12, the city conducted a six-day joint safety inspection of major multi-use facilities (such as terminals, cinemas, and large supermarkets) within its jurisdiction, in cooperation with the private sector. The inspection thoroughly checked the safety status of buildings, electricity, gas, and fire safety. Any issues identified will be fully addressed before the holiday begins.
Additionally, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the city carried out a fire safety support project to prevent fires and electrical accidents in traditional markets. This included replacing a total of 308 outdated earth leakage circuit breakers with arc fault circuit interrupters at 37 key stores in the Nambu Market.
An official from Yangsan City stated, "We will prioritize the safety of our residents and do our utmost to ensure a swift and systematic disaster response," and added, "We also ask all residents to actively follow safety guidelines in their daily lives and to report any hazards immediately upon discovery."
