Public Procurement Service Resumes Nara Marketplace Services... "Payment Functions Restored First"

The National Information Resources Service (NIRS) in Daejeon, which had been suspended due to a fire at the NIRS Daejeon headquarters, will resume its Nara Marketplace services.

The Public Procurement Service announced on September 29 that it has resumed the Nara Marketplace service by switching to the disaster recovery (DR) system. The service resumed at 9 a.m. on the same day (September 29).

However, in order to ensure stable operation, some functions of the resumed service will be limited as a policy measure, with priority given to resuming Nara Marketplace payment services closely related to the public livelihood.

The disaster recovery (DR) system is designed to quickly restore IT infrastructure and work functions in the event of unexpected incidents that interrupt system services, thereby maintaining business continuity.

Following the fire at the NIRS on September 26, the Public Procurement Service immediately activated its emergency response system, conducting data checks and function tests. Through the DR system at the NIRS Gwangju Center, the agency prepared to restart the system, which supports 18 services including Nara Marketplace, Subcontract Keeper, and the information homepage.

In connection with payment services, the Public Procurement Service is also conducting final system checks with the goal of resuming Subcontract Keeper, which electronically manages subcontract payments, on September 29.

Additionally, to ensure smooth work processes even if system delays or failures occur after service resumption, the agency has prepared manuals, FAQs, and other resources in advance so that public services can be provided without disruption.

Baek Seungbo, Commissioner of the Public Procurement Service, stated, "We have resumed major Nara Marketplace services through the disaster recovery system to minimize inconvenience for procurement companies and user organizations," adding, "The Public Procurement Service will continue to work closely with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the NIRS to ensure that all Nara Marketplace and support system services operate normally."
