Before the main event, a variety of activities such as one-minute caricatures, gift draws, booths selling Hwacheon local specialties, and prize giveaways were prepared, drawing great popularity among the participants.
All participants received various gifts, including hiking socks, snacks, bottled water, and local specialties from Hwacheon such as sesame oil. In addition, Hwacheon local gift certificates were distributed, allowing participants to enjoy places like Hwacheon Market along the walking course and contribute to the local economy through actual spending, creating a positive impact.
In particular, the "Barefoot Walk on the Bungeo Island Red Clay Path," included in the walking course, offered participants a unique tactile experience, further enriching their five senses. Participants finished the event with lasting impressions after immersing themselves in the diverse sensations of nature.

Participants enjoyed the scenery where mountains and rivers meet, listened to the sound of reeds swaying in the riverside breeze, felt the fresh river wind, tasted local foods, and experienced the sensation of nature underfoot while walking barefoot. Every moment fulfilled the participants’ five senses and provided a healing experience.
Choi Sunghyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, stated, "Through this 'Five Senses Trekking' event, I hope participants were able to experience the unique charm of the region by fully engaging their senses," and added, "We will continue to develop unique walking tour programs in Gangwon to provide genuine support for the local economy."
