Kang Seunghyeop, CEO of Shinsegae Food, was appointed as the new CEO of Shinsegae Construction on September 26, 2025.

Kang graduated from Kyungbok High School in 1989 and majored in Geography Education at Korea University.

He joined Shinsegae in 1995 and has held various positions, including Head of the Audit Team at the Group Strategy Office, Executive Director for Support at Shinsegae Construction, Managing Director for Administration at Emart, Executive Director for Finance and Head of Support Headquarters at Gmarket, and Executive Director of the Support Headquarters at Shinsegae Property.

After being appointed CEO of Shinsegae Food in the regular executive reshuffle in October last year, Kang is now taking the helm at Shinsegae Construction after just one year. Under his leadership, Shinsegae Food recorded an operating profit of 21.4 billion won in the first half of this year, up 49.3% compared to the previous year. Based on these achievements, he has been entrusted with the important task of finding a breakthrough for Shinsegae Construction, whose performance has deteriorated.
