Ulsan Elia Hospital to Operate as Usual on Substitute Holiday During Chuseok to Minimize Inconvenience for Local Residents

24-Hour Emergency Room Operation

Ulsan Elia Hospital (Director: Jung Younghwan) announced that it will provide regular medical services on the substitute holiday, Wednesday, October 8, in order to minimize patient inconvenience and prevent medical service gaps during the Chuseok holiday period.

This year, the Chuseok holiday begins with National Foundation Day on October 3, followed by Chuseok, a substitute holiday, and Hangeul Day, resulting in a maximum of seven consecutive days off. As a result, concerns are growing over potential disruptions in emergency care and medical service gaps.

To address potential emergency medical service gaps caused by the extended holiday, Ulsan Elia Hospital will operate its own 24-hour emergency care system. Both the emergency room and inpatient wards will remain fully operational throughout the holiday period, and the hospital will inspect and implement on-call and emergency call processes to provide prompt and proactive care for local emergency patients.

In particular, on the substitute holiday of October 8, the hospital will provide 100% regular services, including outpatient care, examinations, and surgeries. Through these measures, the hospital expects that local residents and inpatients, who might have experienced inconvenience due to medical service gaps during the holiday, will be able to receive uninterrupted care.

Jung Younghwan, Director of Ulsan Elia Hospital, stated, "A long holiday can lead to interruptions in medical services and create issues in the local emergency medical system. We will do our utmost to ensure that patients in Buk-gu, Ulsan can receive necessary treatment without inconvenience during the holiday period by operating an emergency care system in the emergency room, providing regular services on the substitute holiday, and working closely with local health centers and related organizations to maintain continuity of care."

He added, "Ulsan Elia Hospital is a general hospital that serves not only Buk-gu, Ulsan but also neighboring areas such as Oedong-eup and Yangnam-myeon in Gyeongju. We are committed to going beyond basic medical services to contribute to the improvement of community health, acting as a trustworthy partner, practicing patient-centered care, and fulfilling our responsibility to protect the health rights of local residents."
