Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province, led by County Governor Cho Sangrae, has taken a significant step forward together with its residents to attract the "Basic Income Pilot Project for Farming and Fishing Villages."

On the afternoon of the 24th at 3:40 p.m., the county held a resident briefing session and a resolution rally at the Gokseong County Community Center, where the residents expressed their united determination to secure the basic income pilot project for Gokseong.

During the briefing session, Park Cheolhwan, Secretary General of the National Association for Basic Income in Farming and Fishing Villages, delivered a lecture explaining the necessity and significance of the basic income system. At the subsequent resolution rally, Yang Yangsik, head of the Gokseong branch of the National Association of Village Leaders, read the resolution on behalf of the residents, stating, "The Basic Income Pilot Project for Farming and Fishing Villages is the hope we need most, and it must begin in Gokseong."

Notably, during the resolution rally, all residents participated in a "resolution performance," holding placards and chanting slogans. The county plans to make every effort to attract the pilot project, having gathered strong support for participation from the residents through this briefing and rally.

A county official emphasized, "This pilot project is not simply a form of support, but an innovative policy to revitalize rural areas and protect the lives of residents. We will do our utmost, together with the residents, to establish Gokseong County as a national model for basic income in farming and fishing villages."

Meanwhile, the county is actively encouraging broader participation by conducting a county-wide signature campaign both online and offline through September 30.
