On September 25, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeonggwan attended the Industrial Convergence Regulatory Sandbox Committee held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul. He personally experienced a demonstration of a humanoid robot and shook hands with it. Under current laws, bipedal humanoid robots have been restricted from being introduced into industrial sites due to the lack of appropriate standards and safety regulations. However, as a result of the committee's review on this day, bipedal humanoid robots equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) will be tested for the first time in industrial settings.
