Yeongdeok County's mobile civil complaint response team, "On the Move! Captain Deok," a key pledge project of the 8th popularly elected administration, has handled 2,717 cases of daily inconvenience from May 2023 to August 2025, over a period of two years and three months.
The "On the Move! Captain Deok" initiative is a field-based administrative service that visits households facing difficulties in resolving daily inconveniences such as replacing light bulbs or repairing window screens due to financial burdens or physical limitations. This includes basic livelihood security recipients, low-income households, people with severe disabilities, seniors living alone aged 65 and above, and households with seniors aged 70 and above.
During this period, the mobile response team swiftly addressed various inconveniences in residents' daily lives, including 816 cases of light bulb and outlet replacements, 637 cases of faucet and plumbing replacements, 433 minor repairs, and 831 other civil complaints.
Notably, in July, the team supported daily civil complaints for wildfire victims residing in temporary housing and, through integration with ICT-based senior care services, provided customized civil complaint services to vulnerable elderly residents. These efforts have significantly contributed to strengthening resident-focused welfare and the social safety net.
In addition, Yeongdeok County has decided to operate "On the Move! Captain Deok" as usual during the upcoming Chuseok holiday, from October 3 to October 9, in consideration of the many elderly residents who spend holidays alone.
The county plans to continue addressing daily civil complaints for socially vulnerable groups and wildfire victims throughout all 204 villages in the nine towns and townships within the county, aiming to minimize inconvenience for its residents.
County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "We will actively operate 'On the Move! Captain Deok' so that residents can spend the holiday season without inconvenience and ensure there are no gaps in their stable lives. We will strengthen resident-focused daily civil complaint services and maintain our on-site approach to ensure that effective support reaches those in need."
