KakaoBank Surpasses 100,000 Subscribers for "Government Subsidy Finder" Service

KakaoBank announced that the number of subscribers to its "Government Subsidy Finder" service has surpassed 100,000. On September 15, KakaoBank partnered with Wello to launch the "Government Subsidy Finder" service, which recommends customized government subsidies to customers. Over 10,000 customers use the service daily, and the number of subscribers exceeded 100,000 just nine days after its launch.

KakaoBank explained that the key to this success was enhancing convenience throughout the entire process, from information registration to subsidy application. Customers can easily register their basic information through a chatbot interface, and even when complex document verification is required, information can be entered using data scraping.

Customers can set any government subsidy benefit they are interested in as "My Interested Subsidy" to receive notifications, and for government subsidies linked to services provided by KakaoBank, applications can be submitted directly through the KakaoBank app for added convenience.

According to KakaoBank's analysis, the most frequently selected benefit as "My Interested Subsidy" was the "Mutual Growth Payback." This was followed by "Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon," "National Tomorrow Learning Card," "National Movie Ticket Discount," and "K-Pass." The analysis suggests that benefits with simpler application requirements and limited offering periods gained popularity more quickly.

The "Government Subsidy Finder" service is popular across all age groups. The age distribution of subscribers is 24% in their 20s or younger, 26% in their 30s, 29% in their 40s, and 22% in their 50s or older, indicating that customers of all ages are turning to KakaoBank to receive recommended subsidy benefits.

One in four subscribers was identified as a sole proprietor. The "Government Subsidy Finder" service offers a wide range of customized government subsidy recommendations for sole proprietors based on factors such as business type, scale, and location, providing practical support for busy business owners in their operations.

KakaoBank stated, "The key to our popularity is the enhanced convenience that allows customers to manage government subsidies they might otherwise miss out on, in a customized way," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide practical benefits that our customers need."
