DB Insurance Introduces Multilingual Interpretation AI Agent Exclusively for Foreign Customers

DB Insurance announced on the 25th that it had signed a business agreement on the 22nd at the Ubase headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, for the introduction of the financial sector's first 'multilingual interpretation artificial intelligence (AI) agent' service.

This agreement was carried out as part of efforts to improve the financial service environment for foreign customers, who are considered a vulnerable group. The company plans to reduce the risk of incomplete sales that may arise from language barriers when foreign customers purchase insurance, and to provide an intuitive AI interpretation service. By implementing a complete sales monitoring process that does not discriminate between domestic and foreign customers, the company aims to further strengthen and solidify its consumer rights protection system.

The multilingual interpretation AI agent, which is being introduced in collaboration with the global AI outsourcing (BPO) company Ubase, uses AI to provide real-time multilingual interpretation throughout the entire complete sales monitoring consultation process. This reduces the risk of missing information or misunderstandings during consultations and enhances the reliability of the subscription process.

By eliminating the process of connecting to an interpretation company, customer wait times are reduced, and the service is stable without relying on external interpretation providers. Additional languages can be freely added as needed. The service will support five languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and Vietnamese. It is scheduled to launch in November, with plans to expand the range of supported languages in the future.

DB Insurance has been a leader in providing services aimed at establishing a culture of complete sales for vulnerable groups, such as introducing the non-life insurance industry's first 'three-party sequential interpretation service for foreign languages' in 2019, and developing the insurance industry's first 'telemarketing (TM) contract mirroring subscription process' for seniors in 2022.

A DB Insurance representative stated, "The multilingual interpretation AI agent is a tool that enables foreign customers to purchase insurance with peace of mind, without language barriers," and added, "We will continue to protect consumer rights and innovate our services to ensure that no vulnerable group experiences inconvenience in accessing insurance services."
