The Maesan to Ilsan road widening project covers a total length of 2.3 kilometers and a width of 12 meters (two lanes), connecting the Maesan Intersection in Maesan-ri, Cheoin-gu, Yongin City, to the Chuja Roundabout in Chuja-dong, Gwangju City. A total project cost of 58.7 billion won was invested to improve the poor road alignment and gradient, and to widen the narrow shoulders that posed a high risk of accidents.

Construction began in March 2021 and was completed in four years. Major facilities include two bridges (Maesan Bridge and Chuja Bridge), seven at-grade intersections, and one roundabout.

The opening of this road is expected to help reduce the risk of traffic accidents, improve accessibility between Maesan-ri in Yongin and Chuja-dong in Gwangju, and increase transportation convenience.

Yoo Byungsoo, Director of Road Construction, stated, "The opening of the Maesan to Ilsan section of Local Road No. 321 will not only alleviate traffic inconveniences between Mohyeon-eup in Yongin City and Chuja-dong in Gwangju City, but also play an important role in revitalizing the local economy. We will continue our best efforts to expand infrastructure in southern Gyeonggi Province to resolve transportation inconveniences for local residents and improve their quality of life."
