To ensure that both Sejong residents and visitors returning home can enjoy a safe and warm Chuseok, the city will implement a comprehensive plan for the Chuseok holiday over a seven-day period from October 3 to October 9.

According to the city of Sejong on September 24, a comprehensive task force situation room will be established and operated with eight dedicated teams. The city will implement 14 key initiatives across eight areas: stabilization of livelihoods, medical and infectious disease response, fire safety, roads and transportation, living environment, and more.

First, to stabilize local prices, a price stabilization situation room will be operated, and joint inspections will be conducted to monitor for price gouging, compliance with price labeling, and country of origin labeling. Various discount events will also be held during the holiday period, allowing residents to purchase high-quality products at reasonable prices.

From October 1 to October 5, Sejong Traditional Market will hold an event where customers can receive up to 30% of their purchase amount for domestic agricultural, livestock, and marine products-up to 20,000 won per person-in Onnuri gift certificates. Additionally, four Singsing Market locations will hold special Chuseok sales events from October 3 to October 5.

To improve convenience for traditional market users, public parking lots at traditional markets will be open free of charge, and from now until October 9, parking enforcement at the Jochiwon-eup traditional market will be relaxed from the usual 20 minutes to up to 2 hours. Support for socially disadvantaged groups will also be strengthened. Single-parent households with low income will receive a holiday support payment of 100,000 won per household, and other low-income households will receive 50,000 won per household.

To honor independence patriots, a holiday consolation payment of 200,000 won per person will also be provided. For vulnerable people with disabilities and the elderly, the city plans to minimize care gaps before and after the holiday by monitoring emergency safety services.

In particular, the medical and infectious disease response plan includes operating an emergency medical situation room, checking the operation status of hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the holiday, and more. Through the emergency medical situation room, the city will monitor the medical services at Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital and operate an emergency disease control team to prepare for potential outbreaks of infectious diseases.

To maintain smooth traffic flow during the holiday, a traffic situation room will be operated for real-time response, city buses will run on all routes at weekend and holiday levels, and village taxis and Duroota services will be deployed to address transportation blind spots.

The city will also take preemptive measures against natural and social disasters in autumn by implementing special fire watch duties, operating a disaster safety situation room 24 hours a day, launching special forest fire countermeasures, and enforcing livestock disease control measures. The city will also operate waste complaint and rapid response teams, conduct safety inspections of environmental facilities, multi-use facilities, and gas and electricity facilities, in order to prevent inconveniences and accidents.

Milky Way Park’s funeral hall, charnel house, and natural burial site, as well as the public cemetery and charnel house, will operate as usual, while the crematorium will operate on a reduced schedule during the holiday. Useful information and emergency contacts for the holiday period will be posted in an integrated format on the city hall’s website.
