The city inspected its emergency response system to conduct a detailed water quality investigation and develop fundamental improvement measures, as concerns spread among citizens following the possibility that water quality changes, such as algal (green algae) blooms caused by the abnormal high temperatures since June this year, may have been the cause.

The meeting was attended by the head of the Clean Water Business Office and other relevant department heads, who focused on a comprehensive analysis of the causes of filter discoloration, a review of water quality data from the affected areas, transparent water quality investigation measures, sharing and discussing the current status, and determining future response strategies.

Vice Mayor Kim Choongbeom instructed officials to make restoring citizens' trust in tap water the top priority, to immediately launch a detailed investigation, and to scientifically identify the causes of filter discoloration. He also emphasized that, if necessary, the city would supplement water purification processes, establish measures to block algal inflow, and strengthen cooperation with related agencies to develop fundamental and practical solutions.

The city plans to continue focusing its administrative resources on systematic water quality management and prompt responses to ensure that citizens can use tap water with confidence.
