Former Vice Minister of Justice Lee Nogong appeared for questioning as a suspect at the special prosecutor's office investigating Private Chae in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on September 23. The special prosecutor believes that Lee was involved in the process of conducting a personnel verification of former Minister of National Defense Lee Jongseop and making the decision that he was qualified for the position.
