Subsidiary to Be Established Within the Year
Employee Briefing Completed

Fortytwodot announced on September 23 that it will separate its UMOS (Urban Mobility Operating System) business into an independent growth platform this year to strengthen its competitiveness in future mobility.

Fortytwodot plans to establish the UOMS business division as a subsidiary to enhance its SDV (Software-Defined Vehicle) technology and accelerate the UMOS business. The company has set a revenue target of 500 billion won for the UMOS business division by 2030.

Fortytwodot will focus on developing SDV technology, while the UMOS business division will rapidly deliver services to the market by leveraging sales, marketing, and operational capabilities established through independent management.

The UMOS business will include the smart city and mobility integration solutions previously provided by Fortytwodot. It will be composed of the following: the mobility service "Tap! (TAP!)," the fleet management service "Pleaos Fleet," the AI-based traffic management system (TMS) "Kapora," and a robot service (RaaS)-based cloud WMS, among others.

At the same time, it will serve as a test bed for the commercialization of technologies developed by Fortytwodot and support the rapid market deployment of future mobility services such as autonomous taxis, shuttles, and trucks.

A Fortytwodot representative said, "This is a strategic decision to reinforce Fortytwodot's position as a technology-driven company, while also strengthening the UMOS business as an independent pillar. With UMOS growing into an independent business outside of Fortytwodot's internal operations, we expect to be able to swiftly provide a diverse range of mobility services."
