Ulsan City, in collaboration with the Saeul Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, will hold the "Our Neighborhood Traditional Market Shopping (Go) Event" at 10:30 a.m. on September 23 at Namchang Onggi Jonggi Market in Ulju County.

This event has been organized to revitalize the local commercial district ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

Starting with this day, Ulsan City will also hold shopping events at the following locations: Hogae Public Market in Buk-gu on September 26, Dongulsan General Market in Dong-gu on September 29, and, together with SK Chemicals, Sinjeong Market in Nam-gu on October 2.

More than 20 participants, including Mayor Kim Dukyum, Yoon Seungho, Director of External Cooperation at the Saeul Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Cho Jongjun, President of the Namchang Onggi Jonggi Market Merchants Association, and city council members, will attend the event.

Participants will shop directly at the market using Onnuri gift certificates, listen to the voices of traditional market merchants, and offer encouragement to them.

The Saeul Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power has formed a sisterhood relationship with the Namchang Onggi Jonggi Traditional Market Merchants Association and regularly holds shopping events, delivering purchased goods to welfare facilities within Ulju County.

Mayor Kim Dukyum stated, "Efforts are needed to promote purchases at traditional markets, which are facing difficulties due to changes in the distribution environment, in order to create a virtuous cycle for the local economy. I ask public institutions and local businesses to take the lead in purchasing local gift certificates and actively using traditional markets."
