KB Financial Group to Host Women's Amateur Golf Championship from September 24 to 26

The 18th KB Financial Group Women's Amateur Golf Championship, hosted by KB Financial Group and organized by the Korea Golf Association, will be held from September 24 to 26 at Century 21 Country Club in Wonju, Gangwon Province.

This year, a large number of next-generation players who will lead the future of Korean golf are set to compete. Notable participants include Kim Yeonseo (Jinju Foreign Language High School, sophomore), the winner of the 2024 tournament; national team member Hong Sumin (Cheonan Jungang High School Affiliated Broadcasting High School, senior), who ranked first among amateurs at the KB Financial Star Championship; Nam Sieun (Chungju High School Affiliated Broadcasting High School, senior); Sung Haein (Bomun High School, freshman); Lee Sieun (Namnyeong High School, freshman); Pyo Songhyun (Suncheon High School Affiliated Broadcasting High School, sophomore); and Park Seojin (Seomun Girls' High School, sophomore), who is currently ranked second in the Korea Golf Association (KGA) rankings.



The winner of this tournament will earn a spot in next year's KB Financial Star Championship, a major event on the KLPGA Tour. A KB Financial Group representative stated, "We hope this tournament will serve as a stepping stone for promising players to become world-class athletes," adding, "We will continue to foster warm partnerships so that young Korean golfers can grow into athletes who inspire dreams and hope among the public."


Meanwhile, since 2012, KB Financial Group has consistently supported the development of Korean amateur golf by providing nurturing donations. This year as well, the company plans to donate 300 million won to the KGA to support the development of junior golfers.
