Vgreen Power Korea, a Thai renewable energy company, announced on the 22nd that it participated as an official sponsor in the "2025 Seoul Philharmonic Park Concert," sharing a special autumn night of classical music with citizens at Cheongun Dapwon in North Seoul Dream Forest at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 20.
This concert was a special event to commemorate both the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (CEO Chung Jaewhal, hereafter referred to as the Seoul Philharmonic) and the 20th anniversary of its incorporation as a foundation. It was held as an outdoor concert, freely open for all citizens to enjoy.
The opening act featured Hanbit Arts Ensemble, a group of visually impaired musicians. The stage began with "Farandole" from Bizet's "L'Arl?sienne Suite No. 2," followed by a moving performance of David Foster's "The Prayer," with vocals by Lee Areum and tenor Park Youngpil. The finale featured the lively "Can-Can" from Offenbach's "Orpheus in the Underworld," which was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
In the main performance that followed, the Seoul Philharmonic, under the baton of Han-Gyeol Yoon, a rising conductor in the Korean classical music scene, filled the autumn night with profound music. The concert featured visually impaired violinist Kim Jiseon, soprano Kim Hoyoung, winner of the 2021 Metropolitan Opera Competition, and tenor Son Jihoon, winner of the 2023 Tchaikovsky Competition, further elevating the prestige of the event.
Kim Jiseon delivered a delicate yet passionate performance of Saint-Sa?ns' "Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso." This was followed by Johann Strauss II's "Voices of Spring" waltz, and then Kim Hoyoung and Son Jihoon presented moving harmonies through opera arias such as Puccini's "La Boh?me" and Verdi's "La Traviata."
The latter part of the concert continued grandly with "Ride of the Valkyries" from Wagner's "Die Walk?re," and concluded with selections from Tchaikovsky's ballet "Swan Lake." Dramatic performances of "Scene," "Dance of the Little Swans," "Spanish Dance," and "Finale" left a deep impression on the audience.
Vgreen Power Korea has sponsored the Seoul Philharmonic Park Concert every year since 2023, and through this concert, continues to broaden opportunities for citizens to enjoy culture while serving as a bridge for cultural exchange between Korea and Thailand.
This concert was open to all citizens without prior registration, with approximately 2,000 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. For those unable to attend in person, the event was broadcast live via the Seoul Metropolitan Government's "Live Seoul" platform and the official Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra YouTube channel, allowing even more people to share in the experience.
A representative from Vgreen Power Korea stated, "It is meaningful to be able to deliver the joy and inspiration of classical music to many citizens through our collaboration with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra," adding, "We will continue our efforts to foster a society where art and culture are an integral part of everyday life."
