On September 21, Hana Financial Group announced that it had signed a business agreement with the Korea Autism Love Association to establish a stable social settlement and self-reliance foundation for individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

Autism spectrum disorder (Autism) is a type of developmental disorder characterized by difficulties in social interaction and communication. For individuals with autism spectrum disorder to successfully integrate into society, specialized care and support are essential.

Through this agreement, Hana Financial Group will implement a variety of initiatives to help individuals with autism spectrum disorder become healthy members of society. These include: supporting job creation for young people with autism spectrum disorder; providing customized trust services for safe financial management; supporting cultural and artistic activities for artists with autism spectrum disorder; and sponsoring campaigns to improve public awareness of disabilities.

First, the group will renovate its unused spaces into cafes to provide quality jobs for individuals with autism spectrum disorder who are willing to work. By hiring young people with autism spectrum disorder who aspire to become professional baristas and offering them stable and ongoing employment, the group aims to actively help them realize their dreams.

In addition, Hana Financial Group will provide its own differentiated trust services to help individuals with autism spectrum disorder efficiently manage living expenses such as food, housing, and medical costs. Since launching the industry’s first will-substitute trust brand, “Hana Living Trust,” in 2010, Hana Bank has led the market with will-substitute and guardianship trusts, which will be used to support stable financial management for people with disabilities.

In particular, by offering customized trust products tailored to individual circumstances, even after the passing of caregivers, the group expects to address one of the greatest concerns of parents of people with disabilities by supporting sustainable economic activities for them.

Furthermore, to support the creative activities of artists with autism spectrum disorder, Hana Bank will provide its open storage facility, H.art1, free of charge as an exhibition space. The group will also host barrier-free concerts to improve access to culture and the arts for people with disabilities.

To improve public awareness of autism spectrum disorder, Hana Financial Group will continue to encourage employee participation and sponsorship in the “Autism Race,” a running campaign organized by the Korea Autism Love Association and officially sponsored by Hana Financial Group for five consecutive years since 2020.

Chairman Ham Youngjoo stated, “We will continue to provide ongoing attention and support so that individuals with autism spectrum disorder can confidently fulfill their social roles as healthy members of society. Hana Financial Group will take the lead in creating an inclusive society where people with disabilities and their caregivers can grow together and share happiness.”

Each year, Hana Financial Group holds the “Hana Art Bus” art competition awards ceremony to nurture artists with developmental disabilities. The group also carries out a wide range of sincere support activities for people with disabilities, including: providing assistive devices for children and youth with disabilities; offering job training and parent-accompanied internships; improving residential environments; sponsoring the Paralympics; and offering sign language education programs for employees.
