This charitable medical initiative is part of the "2025 Busan Medical Technology Exchange Promotion Support Project," organized by the Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency. Daedong Hospital was selected for this project, enabling the invitation and treatment support for overseas patients.

The patient invited this time is a Mongolian woman born in 1999. She previously underwent right foot surgery in Mongolia due to trauma, but her condition worsened to the point of being diagnosed with a disability because of complications from inadequate treatment. Her right foot cannot touch the ground, and she suffers from severe foot pain and joint imbalance, making it difficult for her to walk normally.

The patient first met the Daedong Hospital medical team in August at a medical briefing held at the Gachuurt Village Health Center in Bayanzurkh District, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The patient's mother tearfully expressed her wish to see her daughter walk properly on both feet someday.

Kim Youngjun, Director of the International Cooperation Center and an orthopedic specialist, directly examined the patient's condition at the site. He stated, "Because her right foot cannot touch the ground, excessive weight is placed on the left side, leading to secondary complications in her left leg and hip. I determined that prompt, detailed diagnosis and surgical treatment were necessary, which is why she was invited as a recipient of this charitable medical care."

Through this support, the patient will stay in Korea for 11 days, undergoing detailed examinations such as CT, MRI, and blood tests, before receiving foot surgery. The surgery will be performed by Yoo Sungho, head of the Foot Center and orthopedic specialist at Daedong Hospital, who will serve as the primary physician. After surgery, the patient will go through recovery and rehabilitation before safely returning to Mongolia.

Yoo Sungho stated, "I am very honored to participate in this charitable medical initiative. All of the medical staff at Daedong Hospital will do their utmost with professionalism and compassion to help her return to a healthy life as soon as possible."
