On September 19, Gapyeong County announced that at the "2025 Gyeonggi-do Grape and Peach Evaluation Contest" held at the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services from September 16 to 17, farmer Park Jaesoon from Gapyeong-eup won the Grand Prize in the Campbell Early category, while farmer Kim Jongsun from Jojeong-myeon received the Excellence Award.

This achievement follows the recent Gapyeong County Grape Evaluation Contest, where both farms submitted high-quality Campbell Early grapes that scored an average sugar content of over 16 Brix and a perfect 10 points on the color chart, earning recognition for their excellence. Notably, after only winning the Excellence Award and Encouragement Award at the 2021 Gyeonggi-do Grape Evaluation Contest, Gapyeong County reclaimed its pride by securing the Grand Prize for the first time in four years.

Oh Hwanggeun, Director of the Gapyeong County Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "This award is seen as reaffirming the competitiveness and brand value of Gapyeong's grape industry. It is a valuable result achieved through the hard work and dedication of our farmers, and it is very meaningful that Gapyeong County has once again established itself as the home of premium Campbell Early grapes."

Meanwhile, this year's evaluation contest featured fierce competition, with 20 Campbell Early grape entries representing 15 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province, as well as 15 entries of Kyoho grapes, 15 entries of Shine Muscat grapes, and 30 entries of peaches.
