Arrest Warrant Sought for Man in His 30s Who Tied Up Mother and Stole Money

A man in his 30s was arrested by the police after tying up his mother and stealing money from her under the pretext of living expenses.


The Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju announced on the 19th that it had applied for an arrest warrant for a man in his 30s, identified as A, on charges of robbery.

A is accused of visiting a massage parlor operated by his mother, B, in Gwangsan District, Gwangju, at around 11:30 p.m. on the 16th, and stealing 300,000 won in cash as well as a mobile phone and other items.


According to the police, A demanded money from B, who was alone at the business, tied her hands with tape, and took the cash from her wallet. He fled to his home in Gyeonggi Province immediately after the crime, but the police apprehended him within five hours of the report.


A reportedly stated, "I committed the crime because I had no money for living expenses."
