[Breaking] Complete Closure of Seoul Ring Expressway 'Howon IC to Goyang·Ilsan'

At approximately 6:36 a.m. on September 18, a collision occurred between a passenger car and a 25-ton cargo truck near the Howon Interchange on the Seoul Metropolitan Area 1st Ring Expressway in Howon-dong, Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, in the direction of Goyang and Ilsan.

As a result of the accident, one person sustained minor injuries, and the cargo truck overturned, blocking the entrance to the Howon Tunnel toward Goyang and Ilsan.

Currently, only one out of four lanes is open to traffic, causing severe congestion for commuters in the surrounding area.

The police and traffic authorities are carrying out towing operations.
