This briefing has been organized to invite representatives and officials from local small business associations in order to: share the current drought situation and local damage status; listen to the difficulties faced by each business sector; seek voluntary participation in water conservation and explore cooperation measures; and provide information on emergency support and water supply contingency plans.

Many of the small business sectors in the region, including food and beverage, lodging, and service industries, are high water consumers, making voluntary water conservation and cooperation in utilizing alternative water sources urgent. Gangneung City plans to share small business support policies, response measures for water supply restrictions, and emergency water supply plans at this briefing, while actively collecting feedback from the field.

In particular, as the prolonged drought has recently increased operational difficulties for some sectors due to reduced water usage, the city intends to provide practical assistance through various support programs and cooperation with related organizations.

Kim Hongkyu, Mayor of Gangneung, stated, "This briefing will serve as an opportunity for local small business owners to accurately understand support programs for overcoming the drought and for field opinions to be reflected in policy. The city will also actively support small business associations so they can become models for water conservation and resource savings."
