S-OIL Wins 'Best Innovation Award' for Digital Transformation from Hexagon

S-OIL (CEO Anwar Al Hejazi) has received the '2025 Best Innovation Award' from Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division, a global leader in digital reality solutions that combine sensors, software, and autonomous technologies.

S-OIL was highly recognized as a best practice for implementing innovation in actual operations by adopting Hexagon's Smart Digital Reality platform and intelligent design solutions.

The Smart Digital Reality technology introduced by S-OIL creates a digital twin environment of real-world plants. At its Ulsan plant, S-OIL successfully established a digital management system that enhances safety and sustainability by improving operational efficiency, strengthening data reliability, and establishing a centralized data management system.

As part of its company-wide digital transformation project, S-OIL achieved several outcomes through the implementation of digital reality solutions, including standardization and improved reliability based on intelligent P&ID, visualization and operational optimization using digital twins, and the development of a one-stop portal to enhance engineering work efficiency.

An S-OIL official stated, "We have established a best practice that demonstrates how the digital twin of design data in Hexagon's Smart Digital Reality environment can be utilized throughout the operational lifecycle."
