Miryang Imposes 16.1 Billion Won in Regular Property Tax for September

The city of Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province, has imposed 80,371 cases of regular September property tax (land and the second installment of housing) totaling 16.121 billion won, and will begin sending tax notices from the 11th.

Property tax is levied on land and housing owners as of the tax base date, June 1. The full amount of land property tax is imposed in September, while housing property tax exceeding 200,000 won is divided equally, with half imposed in July and the other half in September.

The payment period for September property tax is from September 16 to September 30. If payment is overdue, a 3% late payment penalty will be charged, and for amounts of 450,000 won or more, an additional 0.66% will be added each month.

Payment can be made at ATMs of all financial institutions nationwide without a tax notice, and is also available through Wetax, Internet Giro, virtual accounts, ARS automated response system, and mobile simple payment apps.

Lee Soyoung, head of the Tax Division, urged, "Property tax is a major source of revenue for our city and an important resource for regional development and the promotion of citizens' welfare, so please make sure to pay within the deadline."
