During the visit, the two organizations engaged in an in-depth exchange regarding Toss Bank's achievements in information protection, security, and digital innovation within the Korean financial market. They discussed at length the challenges Vietnam faces in its digital transformation, technical strategies for countering cybercrime, and measures to enhance the security of data-driven case management systems.
On this day, Eunmi Lee, CEO of Toss Bank, Jeongha Lee, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and other officials introduced the processes and outcomes achieved so far. The Vietnamese delegation, including Min Thien Hwang, Director of Digital Transformation, comprised about 10 representatives from the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam.
The Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam is the agency responsible for prosecution and oversight of legal compliance in Vietnam. Recently, Vietnam has been pursuing a nationwide digital transformation, and as part of this roadmap, is implementing plans to establish a digital prosecution office. This visit was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) with the aim of learning from Korea's advanced capabilities in digital transformation and cybercrime response.
During their five-day visit to Korea, the Vietnamese delegation visited key institutions such as the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, Ministry of Justice, Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), and the Korea Institute of Criminology and Justice. Toss Bank was the only financial institution visited for the purpose of studying security and digital innovation cases in the financial sector.
Toss Bank continues to maintain its one-app strategy with Toss. Within this framework, it has established an industry-leading, integrated response structure and security system. The bank has also introduced a series of innovative, customer-centric services in the financial sector, such as "Receive Interest Now," a service enabling customers to receive interest immediately; a one-stop combination of "Jeonse Loan" and "Jeonse Protection Guarantee" for rental deposits; and "Together Loan," which enables collaboration with regional banks.
Director Min Thien Hwang commented, "It is remarkable that Toss Bank achieved profitability within just three years while actively promoting inclusive finance. Vietnam has a large, young population with significant potential, and we are proactively embracing digital transformation. We aspire to achieve the same level of financial accessibility and security that Toss Bank has demonstrated."
Eunmi Lee, CEO of Toss Bank, stated, "The two key values represented by Toss Bank are 'permanence,' meaning 24/7 service availability, and 'consistency,' meaning customers can receive the same service anytime, anywhere. The tangible changes accomplished by Toss Bank can be applied globally, and we plan to expand opportunities for exchange and communication with more global partners moving forward."
