Coupang stated that Park Daejun, CEO of Coupang, attended the "Manufacturing AX (AI Transformation) Alliance Launch Ceremony" hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on this day. The event was also attended by Kim Junggwan, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, as well as representatives from AI-specialized companies, universities, and research institutes.

The Manufacturing AX Alliance consists of ten sector-specific alliances, including AI Factory, AI Manufacturing Service, Autonomous Vehicles, and Humanoids. Coupang will be regularly active in the Distribution and Logistics Alliance.

Coupang has rapidly introduced state-of-the-art automation and robotics technologies based on AI at its fulfillment sites. Advanced AI-based technologies such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs), sorting robots, and depalletizing robots are being expanded at major logistics infrastructure facilities, including the Daegu Fulfillment Center, which opened in 2023, and the Gwangju Advanced Logistics Center, completed last year. This year, Coupang is further increasing the automation rate based on AI technology at its major fulfillment centers.

A Coupang representative said, "Through our participation in the Manufacturing AX Alliance, we will strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and other relevant organizations, and do our utmost to ensure the successful AI transformation of the distribution and logistics sector." The representative added, "We will accelerate innovation in logistics and customer service based on AI technology to compete in the global market, and further strengthen our mutually beneficial cooperation with local small business owners."
