The Inno-Biz Association has expressed its support for the introduction of the Korean-style discovery system.
On September 10, the Inno-Biz Association issued a statement saying, "The Korean-style discovery system will be a particularly meaningful change for Inno-Biz companies, which are technology-innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, especially in terms of preventing technology theft and protecting intellectual property."
The association pointed out that it has been difficult to protect legitimate rights due to limitations in securing evidence, and stated, "We expect the system to have a substantial effect not only on the protection of tangible technologies but also on intangible assets such as data, algorithms, and artificial intelligence (AI) patents." The association further advised, "If a document review system utilizing the latest technologies such as AI is introduced, the effectiveness and relevance of the system will be further enhanced."
The association also expressed optimism about the outcomes of the system's implementation. "We expect positive changes such as the prompt and fair resolution of disputes, the strengthening of competitiveness for R&D-focused small and medium-sized enterprises, and increased trust in the global market," the association said. It added, "We hope this system will serve as a solid foundation for innovative companies with future growth engines such as research and development, and contribute to fostering a sound market order and promoting fair competition among companies."
Finally, the association stated, "We will continue to strengthen our AI-based data analysis and technology asset protection capabilities so that Inno-Biz companies can achieve both protection and growth in line with global standards," adding, "Together with our member companies, we will actively reflect the voices from the field in policy-making."
