On September 9, during an appearance on Channel A's radio show "Political Signal," Assemblyman Kim said, "Even while in prison, Director Cho sent letters from jail, and even when his spouse was incarcerated, he would do pull-ups and post proof shots. He cannot claim he had nothing to do regarding the sexual misconduct case while he was imprisoned. He simply did not want to take responsibility."
Assemblyman Kim added, "He can still take action now. He should offer a sincere apology, take appropriate measures, and expel those who need to be expelled. Instead, everyone is being forced to resign, and he is stepping back, just changing his profile picture. This is a severe lack of empathy." He continued, "Director Cho himself should step forward and resolve the situation, but I wonder if this is even a situation that can be resolved." Kim also said, "Perhaps the party should be dissolved. Director Cho should retire from politics."
Assemblyman Kim also commented on a recent statement by Kwak Sang-eon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who said he has no intention of bowing to YouTube power: "It's not that the entire nation is watching the Democratic Party's mouth, but rather they're watching Kim Eo-jun. In fact, the official stances and various discussion mechanisms of the Democratic Party seem to originate from Kim Eo-jun's 'News Factory.'"
When asked whether Jeon Hangil, a former Korean history instructor, is trying to shape public opinion through YouTube, Kim replied, "Even if he is shaping public opinion, forming it within such a small boundary does not mean it will be reflected as the party's stance. Regarding Jeon Hangil, when questions come up on broadcasts, I answer because the questions are asked, but isn't he just a 'rigged election' and 'Enlightenment Decree parrot'? For someone who has become a 'rigged election parrot,' I believe we shouldn't feed him. No more feeding."
Previously, on September 4, Director Cho posted on his social networking service (SNS), "At the time of the sexual misconduct incident, I was stripped of party membership and was not a party member, so I had no role to play in the party's official procedures. As a non-member, I judged that intervening in this process would undermine the party's system and procedures." Then, on September 6, without making any further statements regarding the sexual misconduct case, he changed his Facebook profile picture to one showing himself listening attentively.
