Appraisers' Association: "Standard Land Price Fee Increase Will Improve Working Environment"

On September 9, the Korea Association of Property Appraisers announced that it welcomes the government's decision to raise the investigation and appraisal fees for officially assessed standard land prices, as included in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 2026 government budget proposal. The association expects that this increase will improve the working environment for property appraisers and enhance the accuracy of public assessment work.

According to the budget proposal from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the investigation and appraisal fee for general land will rise from 45,800 won to 47,300 won per parcel, while the fee for special land will increase from 85,000 won to 87,800 won per parcel. These amounts include value-added tax.

The officially assessed standard land price provides price information to the land market and serves as an indicator for transactions. It also serves as a standard for the government and local governments when calculating land prices for related work, as well as for property appraisers when evaluating individual parcels.

The association noted that it is significant that the government submitted the fee increase proposal to the National Assembly, taking into account the professionalism and complexity of investigation and appraisal work, despite the current tight fiscal conditions.

Yang Gilsu, President of the association, stated, "The fee increase plan is a measure to enhance the accuracy and balance of the investigation and appraisal of officially assessed land prices," adding, "We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that property appraisers fulfill their public duties and establish themselves as certified professionals trusted by the public."
