It aimed to honor and revive the spirit of loyalty and filial piety of King Munmu of Silla. The festival opened with a demonstration of the dragon carriage procession from Gameunsa Temple Site to the Tomb of King Munmu and the Chuhyangdaeje memorial ritual.
The festival featured a variety of programs, including a local residents' singing contest, traditional Korean music performances, and guest singer performances. Throughout the event, there was enthusiastic support from local residents, tourists, and various other attendees.
In particular, during the festival, Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters operated a promotional booth, actively conducting outreach to improve local acceptance by introducing its regional support initiatives, such as the continued operation of Wolseong Units 2, 3, and 4 and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power’s support projects.
Director Jeong Wonho stated, "I hope this event, held at the Tomb of King Munmu?the world’s only underwater royal tomb?will become a representative cultural festival not only for the region but for the entire country." He added, "Wolseong Headquarters will continue to communicate and grow together with the local community, putting into practice the value of mutual prosperity."
This event has been held since 2015 after being selected through a public contest as part of Wolseong Headquarters’ Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power support project, and this year marks its ninth edition.
Wolseong Headquarters plans to continue discovering and supporting various projects that will contribute to the development of local culture and the revitalization of the regional economy as a member of the local community.
