Pohang City to Close First Round of Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon Applications on the 12th... Full Support for Applicants

Pohang City is mobilizing a comprehensive support system to ensure that citizens who have not yet applied for the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon can complete their applications before the first round deadline on September 12.

As of September 1, out of 485,852 eligible recipients, payments have been completed for 480,411 individuals, resulting in a payment rate of 98.9%.

The city is continuing to provide thorough guidance to those who have not applied yet, using postal notifications, individual phone calls, and cooperation with local community leaders. Additionally, the city has expanded on-site consultation services at administrative welfare centers in each town and district.

In particular, for citizens with mobility difficulties or those who have trouble using digital devices, the city is operating a "visiting application service." If these citizens call their local administrative welfare center, a staff member will visit them in person to assist with the application, aiming to minimize missed applications.

Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "The Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon is an important policy to revitalize the local economy and ease the financial burden on citizens. We will maintain our consultation staff and information channels until the application deadline to ensure that as many people as possible can benefit. After applications are received, we will focus on prompt distribution and thorough follow-up management to enhance convenience for users."

Applications for the consumption coupon can be made online (through card company websites, apps, call centers, and ARS) or offline (by visiting administrative welfare centers in each town or district). Citizens with mobility difficulties can request the "visiting application service" by phone.

The first round of applications closes on September 12, and distributed coupons can be used until November 30. After the deadline, unused coupons will automatically expire. In preparation for the second round of distribution, the city is thoroughly preparing by producing Pohang Love Gift Certificate cards, conducting system checks, and providing guidance to affiliated stores to minimize inconvenience for citizens.
