Sungjae Im to Compete in Macau in October

Confirmed to Compete in the Asian Tour SJM Macau Open
Former World No. 1 Lee Westwood Also Joins the Field

Sungjae Im will head to Macau in October.


The Asian Tour Macau Open Organizing Committee announced on September 9 that Sungjae Im will compete in the SJM Macau Open, which will be held at the Macau Golf & Country Club for four days starting October 16. The total prize money for the event is 1 million dollars. Sungjae Im is ranked 30th in the world and has claimed two victories on the PGA Tour.

Sungjae Im said, "I have heard from my fellow players that the Macau Golf & Country Club course is beautiful but challenging. I want to make my first visit to Macau a successful and enjoyable experience." After this tournament, he will participate in the DP World Tour Genesis Championship, which will begin on October 23 at Woojeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, Chungnam.


Lee Westwood of England, a former world number one who currently plays in LIV Golf, has also confirmed his participation in the Macau Open. Westwood won the Macau Open in 1999. He said, "I'm happy to compete in the Macau Open again. I have fond memories of winning here 26 years ago. This course has always brought out my best play. I hope to perform well this year and take home my second trophy."
