The Korea National Arboretum and Garden Management Corporation (hereinafter referred to as KNAGMC) announced on September 8 that both the Baekdudaegan National Arboretum and the Sejong National Arboretum received ministerial awards at the 20th Korea ESG Awards.

원본보기 아이콘The Korea ESG Awards are hosted by the Korea Service Industry Promotion Agency. The awards recognize outstanding organizations that practice ESG management in the fields of environment, society, and governance.
In this year's evaluation, the Baekdudaegan National Arboretum received the Minister of Education Award for its efforts in operating a multi-purpose cultural space for local residents' weddings, hosting ESG festivals that promote mutual growth with the local community using plants from regional farms, and running a local specialty promotion and small business marketplace through public-private collaboration.
The Sejong National Arboretum received the Minister of Environment Award for its high marks in social contribution activities, such as providing support for vulnerable groups, operating nighttime openings and supporting flea markets for small businesses to foster local community development and shared growth.
Shim Sangtaek, Chairman of KNAGMC, stated, "KNAGMC and its affiliated institutions will continue to focus on practicing ESG management through environmental innovation, social responsibility, and sustainable community engagement."
