"Come Enjoy the Gomoreong Singing Contest in Suseong, Daegu"... Featuring Kim Yongim, Bang Jooyeon, and Bae Geumseong

The Gomoreong Singing Contest in Suseong District, Daegu, will be held at the west plaza of Daegu Stadium at 7 p.m. on September 13, organized and hosted by the Suseong Cultural Center (Director Ban Yongseok).


The Gomoreong Singing Contest began in 2007 as the "Gomoreong Filial Piety Arts Festival" and has since established itself as a gateway for emerging musicians and a leading regional music festival.

This year, applications were accepted from June 12 to July 20, drawing a total of 754 participants not only from Daegu but from across the country, reflecting strong interest in the event. After the first and second preliminary rounds held at Suseong Artpia on August 2, the final 12 contestants for the main competition were selected.


The total prize money for this year's contest amounts to 12 million won (with 5 million won awarded to the grand prize winner). Popular Korean singers Kim Yongim, Bae Geumseong, and Bang Jooyeon have been invited to further elevate the atmosphere of the event.


Kim Daegwon, Mayor of Suseong District in Daegu, stated, "I hope the Gomoreong Singing Contest will become more than just a competition, serving as a meaningful festival where citizens can come together through music and reflect on the historical value of Gomoreong."
