This Safety and Health Academy, aimed at specialized construction companies in sectors with a high incidence of fatal accidents, will be conducted every Thursday for a total of four weeks to enhance safety management capabilities.

This year, the "Specialized Construction Company Safety and Health Academy" program has expanded its target audience from company representatives only to both representatives and field staff, reflecting feedback from last year's academy graduates and enabling more workplaces to benefit from the training.

After the four-week program for company representatives, a separate course for field staff will also be established in October for interested companies that apply.

Accordingly, 40 representatives from specialized construction companies, selected through a preliminary demand survey, will participate in a four-week curriculum covering various key areas of construction safety and health management. The curriculum includes policy directions for the construction industry (such as the Safe Workplace Project), strategies for establishing and implementing safety and health management systems, risk assessment, site visits to exemplary construction sites, and focused management of occupational health issues at construction sites (such as heat-related illnesses, hazardous and chemical substances, noise, and vibration).

In particular, the program will be conducted in a way that encourages active participation through discussions, practical exercises, and presentations, rather than relying solely on lectures. Activities will include visits to construction sites certified with KOSHA-MS, hands-on risk assessment training, and sharing of industry trends.

Jung Jongdeuk, Head of the Busan Regional Headquarters, emphasized, "This will be an opportunity to provide effective training for specialized construction companies that are committed to reducing fatal accidents but face difficulties in implementation," adding, "I hope this academy will serve as a valuable starting point for advancing the safety culture at construction sites."
