A sales event will be held where people can purchase top-quality local specialties from across the country at discounts of up to over 40% ahead of Chuseok.
Korea Post Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as Korea Post) announced on September 4 that it will hold the "2025 Post Office Shopping Chuseok Gift Festival" for five weeks starting from September 8.
The Gift Festival is the largest discount event of the year organized by Korea Post. During the event, abalone (8-9 pieces, 1kg) will be available at a 49% discount for 38,000 won, first-grade Korean beef (for soup or bulgogi, 1.5kg) at a 34% discount for 73,000 won, and premium dried persimmons (2.6kg) at a 38% discount for 49,900 won.
In addition, Korea Post introduced that other popular Chuseok gifts, such as dried seaweed, apples, pears, and traditional Korean sweets, can also be purchased at reasonable prices.
Post Office Shopping will offer "up to 10,000 won coupons" and "daily limited coupons" during the event period. In particular, this year, a "Just 100 Won Special Offer" will be available, allowing first-time Post Office Shopping customers to purchase limited-quantity products for just 100 won, which is expected to draw attention.
There will also be customer participation events. Customers who write product reviews after making a purchase will have the chance to enter prize draws for items such as washing machines and air dressers. Additionally, those who participate in Post Office Shopping's social media events on platforms like Instagram and YouTube will receive popular snack products and online gift certificates for Post Office Shopping.
Cho Haekeun, Director General of Korea Post, stated, "We have done our best to prepare this event so that people can give and receive wonderful gifts without financial burden despite high prices," and added, "We hope everyone can enjoy a warm and generous holiday through the Post Office Shopping Chuseok Gift Festival."
