Kyowon Group announced on September 4 that its youth current affairs and culture magazine, "Wizkids," has reached its 300th total issue.
Since its launch in 2000, Wizkids has sold more than 1.25 million copies over 25 years, making it a steady-selling magazine. The cumulative sales have exceeded 1.25 million copies, and if stacked horizontally, their height would reach 8,750 meters, nearly matching the height of Mount Everest (8,849 meters).
Wizkids is a monthly magazine designed to foster up-to-date knowledge of current affairs and economics among teenagers. It carefully selects and produces important news that teenagers should know from the latest issues, and develops content in collaboration with official institutions such as the National Museum of Korea and the UNESCO International Centre for Documentary Heritage.
In December of last year, the magazine underwent a major content overhaul. Taking into account the characteristics of teenagers entering adolescence, a new psychological counseling section for youth was introduced, featuring articles written by cognitive psychologist Kim Kyungil. Additionally, a reader journalist program was established to allow readers to directly participate in content creation.
A Kyowon Group representative stated, "With differentiated and professional content, we have managed to survive and maintain a strong fan base even in an environment dominated by digital video content," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide high-quality content for teenagers in the future."
