Starting with the Korea Health Information Service in August, the relay will continue with the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development in September and the Korea Suicide Prevention Center in October, with three public institutions participating together in a relay format.
The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development is motivating participation by comparing the amount of carbon reduced through walking to the equivalent number of trees, allowing all employees to experience the value of eco-friendliness. The institute is also tallying walking achievements by department and awarding outstanding teams.
Lee Hwadong, Acting President of the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, stated, "This challenge is especially meaningful because employees can walk and communicate together while realizing ESG values," adding, "We will continue to build a healthy organizational culture through various ESG activities in the future."
The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development plans to use this challenge as an opportunity to establish an organizational culture that embraces the values of eco-friendliness, health, and cooperation, and to set an example for ESG activities among public institutions.
