The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) will fully implement the Busan-style AI assistant, "PenGPT," on September 8.
This measure aims to reduce the administrative workload of faculty and staff, allowing them to focus more on teaching and student guidance.
Previously, the office began a pilot program in mid-August at 16 elementary, middle, high, and special schools. On September 4, a training session for school administrators will be held at the auditorium of the Educational Research and Information Institute to provide guidance on how to use the system and on information and communication ethics.
"PenGPT" is specialized in handling repetitive tasks such as document summarization, draft creation, and meeting minutes by learning the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's manuals and basic plans. In particular, it is expected to reduce the workload by supporting frequent document tasks for faculty and staff, such as drafting notices to parents and various planning documents.
In addition, 307 types of standard forms for official documents in administrative and academic affairs have been prepared so they can be used directly in the education office's work system (K-Edufine). Along with this, various programs will be additionally provided to enhance efficiency, including support for the hiring process of temporary teachers, school work analysis, and automation of school work assignment.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun emphasized, "Creating an environment where schools can devote themselves to their core roles of teaching and student guidance is more important than anything else," adding, "The introduction of the AI assistant will serve as an opportunity for schools to better fulfill the essence of education."
