Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (Director Wonho Jung) was awarded the Gold Prize at the 51st National Quality Innovation Competition, which was jointly hosted by the National Institute of Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and organized by the Korean Standards Association, from August 25 to 29, 2025.
The competition brought together 316 quality subgroups that were selected through regional preliminaries in 17 cities and provinces across the country. The 'I-NOVA' subgroup from Wolseong Headquarters' Unit 3 (led by Hosang Kim) participated with the theme "Reducing Maintenance Time through Process Technology Learning for Instrumentation and Control Equipment." They won the Gold Prize in the learning organization category, earning recognition for excellence in quality and safety in nuclear power plant operation.
The 'I-NOVA' subgroup set the establishment of a practice-oriented learning infrastructure as its learning direction. Through three main learning activities-developing a drawing interpretation support program, developing a smart diagnostic program for instruments, and developing calibration training equipment for instruments-they enhanced the capabilities of the learning organization and generated knowledge and results.
Director Wonho Jung stated, "Winning this National Quality Innovation Competition is the result of our continuous efforts to enhance engineering capabilities and nuclear power plant operation skills through proactive quality innovation. We will continue to pursue quality innovation and excellent safety operations so that Wolseong Headquarters becomes an even more trusted organization."
