On August 27, Artist Company, a comprehensive content company led by CEO Hwang Kyungjoo, announced that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea ST Exchange for collaboration in the issuance and distribution of new securities based on K-Content IP.

This agreement serves as a foundation for accelerating entry into the global Security Token Offering (STO) market by creating new investment and distribution models through the convergence of K-Content IP, such as dramas and films, and actor management IP with token securities. The signing ceremony was held at Artist Company's headquarters, attended by key executives from both companies, including Shin Daesik, Head of Content Production at Artist Company, and Jung Sangjun, CEO of Korea ST Exchange.

Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on planning and issuing STO products based on K-Content and actor artist IP, conducting joint marketing, and expanding the global STO network.

Artist Company will be responsible for commercializing STO products that combine its content production capabilities and actor management IP, as well as data-driven marketing, with plans to establish a leading model for 'K-Culture STO.' Korea ST Exchange, the first specialized STO distribution platform in Korea to be designated as an innovative financial service by the Financial Services Commission, will handle the distribution of new securities and provide institutional support based on its accumulated experience and network in the global STO market.

Shin Daesik, Head of Content Production at Artist Company, stated, "This collaboration is a new attempt that combines K-Content, actor management IP, and the innovative finance of STO. It will pave the way for a next-generation entertainment investment model where fans and investors participate as co-owners and profit-sharers in content and actor activities."

Jung Sangjun, CEO of Korea ST Exchange, commented, "For the STO industry to grow, a secondary distribution infrastructure that allows investors and market participants to trade freely and transparently is essential. Through this partnership with Artist Company, we aim to establish a stable distribution foundation for K-Culture STO products and, furthermore, expect this to be an important starting point that demonstrates the expansion potential of K-Culture STO through connections with the global market."

Industry insiders believe that this agreement represents a significant turning point that goes beyond simple business collaboration, opening a new investment and consumption paradigm through the combination of K-Content and actor artist IP-based STOs. This aligns with the government's vision for the "300 trillion won K-Culture era" and is expected to have a major impact on both the entertainment and STO industries. With policies such as expanding cultural budgets, financial support for content exports, and support for global joint productions, the collaboration between the two companies is expected to accelerate expansion into the global market.
