According to the Busan Nambu Police Station on August 27, at around 9:30 a.m. the previous day, a Sri Lankan international student, referred to as A, reported to the police that he had lost an envelope containing his tuition money at a crosswalk in front of a university in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, Busan. The envelope contained approximately 1 million won in cash.

A, who had struggled to gather the tuition money, was devastated by the loss and sought help from the police. The police immediately searched the area and checked nearby CCTV footage, during which they discovered that the envelope had been turned in as a found item.

It turned out that a citizen, referred to as B, had picked up the envelope near the crosswalk and, after finishing work at his office, went to a nearby police station to hand it in personally. The police confirmed that the found envelope matched the item lost by the international student and promptly returned it to A.

A police official stated, "A said he thought he would never get it back and became emotional, repeatedly expressing gratitude to citizen B. B responded by saying, 'Anyone would have done the same thing as I did.'"
