The National Assembly has submitted an even stronger amendment to the Commercial Act to the plenary session. The opposition party has labeled it a "corporate tightening" bill and has launched an unlimited debate (filibuster).

Immediately after processing the Yellow Envelope Act (the amendment to Articles 2 and 3 of the Trade Union Act), the stronger amendment to the Commercial Act was submitted. This amendment mandates the implementation of cumulative voting for companies with assets of 2 trillion won or more and expands the number of separately elected audit committee members, among other provisions.
The People Power Party opposed the bill and requested a filibuster. A filibuster is a system that allows members to obtain the right to speak and engage in prolonged debate for up to 24 hours, effectively delaying proceedings. However, once 24 hours have passed, the debate can be immediately concluded and a vote can be held. It is expected that the vote on the stronger amendment to the Commercial Act will also proceed under the leadership of the ruling party after the 24-hour period.
